26-person delegation of hazelnut producers, coming from Spain to Ordu, had a series of visits and investigations.    

Spain's Katalanya Region hazelnut producer and the delegation of Katalanya Hazelnut Research Institute (irta) visited the production fields in Fatsa and Gürsoy Inc. integrated manufacturing facilities, as the invited guests of Ordu Faculty of Agriculture and Ordu Chamber of Agriculture.

Then the guest producers visited the Governor Kaban.

Spain ranks 3rd in the world production ranking after Turkey and Italy, with around 20 thousand tons annual production in Katalanya.

UFK Deputy Chairman Onur Þahin stated that Spain hazelnut production is dependent on the agricultural machines, and added: "Spain has no drawn lands. Hazelnuts are poured on the ground, and then the machines collect them. We have 80% blanching rate, but they only have 30%. The quality of Turkish hazelnuts is indisputable. Our Spanish guests want to create a unity from Turkey at the international level. They want to create a structure that protects the interests of the producers."
