Turkey, which owns a large part of world's hazelnut production and export, obtained an income of 1.3 billion USD by hazelnut export in the first eight months of hazelnut season in 2010-2011.

The projected budget for farm subsidies, the allocations from which are expected to reach TL 5.87 billion this year, will increase to TL 6.13 billion in 2011.

Turkey has earned 448.6 million USD of income from hazelnut exports in the first two months of 2010-2011 export season. The Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association said on Tuesday that Turkey exported 77,170 tons of hazelnut in the first two months of 2010-2011 export season which started on September 1, 2010.

The annual summit between the European Commission, European agricultural representatives and a delegation from the Turkish Government and producers takes place on September 28 in Italy.

Turkey exported 206,032 tons of hazelnut and obtained 1.29 billion USD in the 11th month of 2009-2010 hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2009.
